Marina Prat Mir
At the age of nine, Marina Prat Mir entered the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Girona, where she began her violin studies with Eszter Schutz as her principal teacher. It was during this period that she was introduced to the viola by Sergi Alpiste, and she later studied viola for two years under Joan Fèlix at the same conservatory.
During these years, she participated in projects with Jenia Pikovsky and Joshua Fisher at the Encore Music Project in England, as well as in the Camerata del Pirineo Catalán, working with musicians such as Pierfrancesco Fiordaliso, Heriberto Fonseca, Fanny Kobus, François Ragot, Frédéric Descargues, and Sergi Alpiste.
In 2019, she took part in the VI edition of Clàssica Jove, a course focused on chamber music, taught entirely by the Casals Quartet and the Gerhard Quartet. In 2021, she participated as a “Young Talent” at the Delta Chamber Music Festival, performing alongside Laia Puig, Anna Puig, Fernando Arias, Livia Sellin, David Schultheiss, and Maria José Ortuño.
Marina completed her violin studies at the IEA Oriol Martorell under Heriberto Fonseca, and upon entering higher music studies, she decided to focus on the viola, studying with Anna Puig Torné at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the Academy of Music in Basel, Switzerland, under the guidance of Silvia Simionescu.
She has been a member of several orchestras, including the JONC (Jove Orquestra Nacional de Catalunya), JONDE (Joven Orquesta Nacional de España), OBC (Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya), and the Gran Teatre del Liceu Orchestra. She is currently a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO).
Marina has attended masterclasses with renowned teachers such as Silvia Simionescu, Pauline Sachse, Walter Küssner, Simone Gramaglia, Stephanie Baer, Aine Suzuki, and Tatjana Masurenko.
